Sports Day at Cumballa Hill High School is right around the corner, and the excitement has already begun building on the field. The preliminary heats, held this week, turned the school grounds into a lively arena of determination, friendly rivalry, and pure athletic energy. Students from every house stepped up to race, jump, and cheer, filling the campus with the unmistakable buzz that comes only once a year.

What made the heats special wasn’t just the competition, but the way students supported each other through every event. The heats became a reminder of what CHHS stands for, for every student; confidence, participation, and learning to push beyond your comfort zone.

These early rounds also mark the beginning of the momentum that will carry into Sports Day itself. For some students, the heats were a chance to discover strengths they didn’t know they had; for others, they became a motivating checkpoint on the path to the finals. House spirit soared throughout the week, with students celebrating victories, accepting setbacks with grace, and promising to come back stronger.

As the school looks ahead to Sports Day, the excitement stirred by the heats continues to build. The performances, the cheers, and the shared effort mean a great deal, not only for those students that are hoping to become athletes, but also to those students that simply enjoy the the spirit of playing. At CHHS, Sports Day is more than a tradition; it’s a celebration of growth and resilience!
