At CHHS, we believe that music plays an essential role in education, shaping young minds with creativity, confidence, and emotional depth.
This spirit was beautifully captured during the Singing Competition for Std 5, 6, and 7, where our students filled the school with melody and rhythm. From soulful ballads to energetic tunes, each performance reflected not just vocal talent but also the courage to step on stage, share emotions, and express individuality.
Why Music Matters in Education
Music is not just an extracurricular activity; it is a powerful tool for learning. Research has shown that music improves memory, concentration, and language skills. Singing, in particular, builds breath control, sharpens listening ability, and encourages teamwork when performed in groups. Perhaps most importantly, it fosters self-confidence. For a child to stand before an audience and sing with conviction is no small achievement.
A Celebration of Talent and Expression
The Singing Competition was more than just a contest; it was a celebration of creativity. Every participant brought something unique to the stage. What stood out was the shared love for music, a passion that lit up the audience and left lasting smiles on every face. As teachers and mentors, it was a proud moment to witness how music can transform nervousness into confidence, and effort into excellence.
Looking Ahead
Events like the Singing Competition remind us why CHHS continues to nurture the artistic side of our students alongside academics. Music education is not just about creating singers or musicians; it is about building well-rounded individuals who can think creatively, express themselves, and connect deeply with others.
